DESCRIPTION:All residents are invited to dispose of their household hazardous and electronic waste free of charge at several mobile events located within Prince Edward County. \nThe mobile events hosted by Quinte Waste Solutions will take place at the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street) from 9 am – 2 pm on the following dates: \n\n\n\nSaturday\, May 10\nSaturday\, June 14\nSaturday\, July 19\nSaturday\, September 13\n\n\n\nHousehold hazardous and electronic waste can be found in almost every room of your home. These products\, if thrown in the garbage or poured down the drain\, can have negative effects on the environment including an impact on groundwater and surface water such as creeks\, rivers\, and lakes. \nClick here to view the schedule and see a full list of items that are accepted at mobile events. \nPlease note that motor oil and scrap metal are not accepted. Motor oil must be dropped at the hazardous waste depot in Belleville. Operating hours are available on the Quinte Waste Solutions website.

SUMMARY:Municipal Community Grants Deadline
DESCRIPTION:The Municipal Community Grants provide financial or in-kind support to community organizations that offer programs\, services or activities in culture\, heritage\, recreation\, environment\, and health and human services. \nThe total grant funding available is based on approved funding by County Council during the annual budget deliberations. The maximum grant amount per organization is $15\,000; the typical grant amount per organization is between $3\,000 and $5\,000. \nThrough a partnership agreement\, The County Foundation administers all streams of grant applications. Application forms and more information are available on The County Foundation’s website. The deadline to apply for a grant is Monday\, March 24 at 4 pm. \nNew this year: \n\nEligible organizations can apply for funding to support special projects as well as core operating expenses. Organizations that have received a Municipal Community Grant in previous years are eligible to apply for two-year grants.\nArts organizations will now apply to the new PEC Arts Fund for cash grants\, rather than the Municipal Community Grants Program. The PEC Arts Fund supports organizations that have a stated mandate to provide services\, programs and amenities in the realm of the arts (including but not limited to visual\, performing and performance\, literary\, media and decorative arts). DESCRIPTION:In January 2025\, the Corporation of the County of Prince Edward entered into a three-year partnership agreement with County Arts to lead the development and implementation of the municipality’s public art program in collaboration with municipal staff. \nCounty Arts is currently working on drafting the Public Art Policy\, which will be presented to County Council for approval in Q2 2025. We are also drafting related procedures and working on establishing an Interdepartmental Public Art Team composed of municipal staff\, and a volunteer Public Art Committee composed of residents. There will be a public call issued for Public Art Committee members; information will be posted on this page. \nAre you interested in proposing a public art project on municipal property? \nUntil the Public Art Policy is approved\, a temporary moratorium on permanent public art installations on municipal property remains in place. However\, the municipality does allow for temporary public art installations. The guidelines and application form can be found here on the municipality’s website. Questions should be directed to Jane Vader\, Bookings Representative\, Recreation and Community Facilities bookings@pecounty.on.ca / 613.476.2148 extension 5003. \nWe are excited to be accepting applications from community members who wish to be a part of Prince Edward County’s first Public Art Committee (PAC)!
